Learn how to heal the sea and bless the “Friendly Grey Whales” as they travel over 6,000 miles to give birth to their young in the safe lagoons of Baja California.
Fran and Annie Tablas MacAulay have been providing marine science educational programs for over 27 years with over 150,000 participants joining them in marine biology programs on Catalina Island as well as other places around the world.. Annie has been studying Grey Whales in the field for over 30 years and has guided various Marine Mammal eco tours since 1994. This will be a trip of a lifetime as see Grey Whales up close and personal and often get a chance to pet these beautiful whales.
1 full day and 1 half day with the Whales in Magdalena Bay!
Stories and teaching on the Grey Whales by marine scientists Fran and Annie Tablas MacAulay. Annie has been studying Grey Whales in the field for over 30 years and has guided various Marine Mammal eco tours since 1994. Fran has also led various eco tours for over 20 years and is fluent in Spanish.
Children ages 8-13 with a paid adult (staying in their room) – $1695
Trip includes 5 days and 4 nights.
1 night stay in La Paz, 2 nights in Magdalena Bay and last night stay in Cabo San Lucas.
Accommodations will be in an airbnb shared with other guests.
Breakfast and some lunches included
Guests will fly into Cabo San Lucas (SJD) and meet at the airport no later than 1 pm.
We will drive to La Paz that evening and check in by 4 pm, have a welcome party and orientation on the trip. An informative evening about Grey Whale encounters as well as information on various bird species and other natural history information on the lagoon will be given by Fran and Annie.. Day 2 guests will leave for Magdalena Bay and join in an afternoon trip finding and interacting with the whales.
Day 3 will be an all day adventure with the whales which typically avails hands on encounters with these gentle giants and their calves. Day 4 we will drive back to Cabo San Lucas for a relaxing evening sharing stories, pictures and videos of our adventure.
Day 5 Will be travel to the airport to fly home
This is an adventure in a remote eco village. If you need a 4 or 5 star resort this is not a good fit for you. If you love whales, dolphins and God’s amazing creation and want to be a part of healing the sea then this is the trip for you!
Day 1 –Tuesday – You will be picked up in the van. There may be some wait time as people arrive from various locations. We plan on leaving for La Paz by 1:00 p.m. After a 2 hour drive to La Paz we will have orientation and a discussion about Whales. –
Day 2 – Leave at 8 am for Mag Bay San Carlos, arrive by 11 am and check into rooms. Embark on an afternoon trip with the Whales
Day 3 – All Day Whales – Mag Bay San Carlos
Day 4 -Closure on Whales – Leave for Cabo San Lucas by 10 a.m.
Day 5 – Goodbye by 11:00 and head to the airport.
