Whale Encounters in Magdelena Bay Baja California 

Join us on a “Heal the Sea Eco Tour”. Have the encounter of a lifetime as you come face to face with one of the largest creatures on earth! Learn how to heal the sea and bless the “Friendly Grey Whales” as they travel over 6,000 miles to give birth to their young in the safe lagoons of Baja California.

Fran and Annie Tablas MacAulay have been providing marine science educational programs for over 27 years with over 150,000 participants joining them in marine biology programs on Catalina Island as well as other places around the world.. Annie has been studying  Grey Whales in the field for over 30 years and has guided various Marine Mammal eco tours since 1994. This will be a trip of a lifetime as see Grey Whales up close and personal and often get a chance to pet these beautiful whales. 

Trip Highlights:

1 full day and 1 half day with the Whales in Magdalena Bay!

Stories and teaching on the Grey Whales by marine scientists Fran and Annie Tablas MacAulay. Annie has been studying  Grey Whales in the field for over 30 years and has guided various Marine Mammal eco tours since 1994. Fran has also led various eco tours for over 20 years and is fluent in Spanish.

• Trip 1) April 3d to 7th, 2025

Prices:

• Double occupancy – $1895
• Single occupancy –  $2215

Children ages 8-12 with a paid adult (staying in their room) – $1695

• Length of Stay: 1 night in La Paz, 3 nights in Magdalena Bay
• Accommodations: Will be in an Airbnb shared with other guests (same description as before).
• Meals Included: Snacks, lunches on the boat, and 2 dinners at Magdalena Bay. All other meals are on your own.
• Arrival Flight: Guests must arrive into Cabo San Lucas (SJD) no later than 1 p.m. on their arrival day.

Daily Outline

• Day 1
  Drive to La Paz and check in by 4 p.m. We’ll head into town for dinner and have an evening orientation covering whale behavior, bird species, and other natural history details of the lagoon (presented by Fran and Annie).

• Day 2
  Travel to Magdalena Bay and check into your rooms. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby dunes, bird watching, beachcombing, or simply relaxing on the beach.

• Day 3 & Day 4
  Full-day adventures experiencing the incredible Grey Whales and their newborn calves. Hands-on encounters with these gentle giants are often possible and truly unforgettable!

• Day 5
  Depart Magdalena Bay, stop for lunch in La Paz, and arrive back in Cabo San Lucas around 5 p.m. You’ll arrange your own accommodations this night if you plan to stay longer.

This is an adventure in a remote eco-village. If you need a 4 or 5 star resort, this is not the trip for you. If you love whales, dolphins, and God’s amazing creation—and want to be a part of healing the sea—then this is the trip for you!
